I have been playing spades for several years. I find the game fun, thought provoking, and competitive. In playing spades in the Zone and within Case’s Ladder, I have come to the conclusion that many players play alike, and that winning is in the luck of the cards and the choices that the players make. Many good choices are made based on probability and, of course, based on the s.w.a.g. system (Smart Wild Ass Guess).
There are three parts to playing spades: one being the bidding, two being the tactics in playing the hand and three reacting to the situation. Each game takes on a dynamic of its own.
