Actually, the 4-click process is the way that it was on the old site. You had to click through all 4 pages to collect the appropriate cookies to disable your ads. One of the goals for the new Ad Disable tool was to streamline that process.
For this reason, on the new design, the programmers have made the single option button for ad Disabling. That is the "Display Ads: On/Off" toggle. However, because of the way the ads are set up on the old site, if you want to disable ads on the old design (including OCLs, Team Leagues, and Tournament pages), you still have to go through the old process.
The programmers are working on a way to disable the old pages' ads with the "one-click" option box, but for now, if users want to disable ads on the old pages, they still have to use the old pre-redesign process.
So, basically, we're aware of how bad the old design is in this case, which is why we're trying to make it better on the new design.
